The American Legion Scholarship Programs
Amount: varies by scholarship--individual scholarship names link to applications
Criteria: The student must be a resident of Missouri. Applicants must be under the age of 21, unmarried and a descendant* of a veteran with at least ninety days active service in the U. S. Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard, who received an Honorable Discharge for such service. A photocopy of the veteran's DD 214, discharge or separation notice must accompany the scholarship application. Any additional requirements for each scholarship are on the reverse side of the application. There are six scholarships available: Charles L. Bacon Scholarship, Commanders Scholarship, Erman W Taylor Scholarship, Joseph J. Frank Scholarship, Lillie Lois Ford Scholarship, M.D. Jack Murphy Scholarship, & SAL Scholarship. (Shane Dean Voyles Memorial Scholarship is separate, and only one student per high school is selected to apply.) American Nuclear Society Scholarship
Amount: $1,000
Criteria: Incoming freshmen scholarships are open to graduating high-school seniors who have enrolled full-time in college courses pursuing science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) with an interest in working in nuclear science and technology. Recipients of the Incoming Freshman scholarships are required to join ANS prior to the distribution of funds.

Bob Hackney Memorial Scholarship
Amount: $1,000
Criteria: The Bob Hackney Memorial Scholarship shall be awarded to a student who is a genuine person quietly impacting others by living life with kindness, humility, and strength of character. Must be a CJHS senior graduating between December 1, 2021 and June 30, 2022. Must show financial need by providing the Estimated Family Contribution from the FAFSA. Funds will be used for educational expenses to continue the applicant's education at an accredited post-secondary college, university, or vocational school. Must have maintained a minimum high-school grade-point average of 2.5 and a minimum ACT composite of 20. Must have been involved in school or community activities.

Bristol Myers Squibb Scholarship for Cancer Survivors
Amount: $10,000
Criteria: Applicants must be cancer survivors, age 25 and under, who are high school seniors or graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduates. To be eligible, you must be planning to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year. Applicants will be asked to provide a personal statement, describing the impact of cancer on your life.

Bryce Boyd Hometown Dental Scholarship
Amount: $500
Criteria: Must be a current high school senior on track to graduate between Dec 1 2022 - June 30, 2023, seeking higher education and/or a service-oriented career. Amount: $1,000

Carl Junction Band Booster Scholarship
Amount: $100-$500
Criteria: Must have been enrolled in CJHS band. Must be a graduating high school senior enrolling in a college performing instrumental music activity in the Fall of 2023. Recipient is not required to be a music major. Recipient must enroll in at least 12 college credit hours. Submit to Mrs. Kristy Jones, CJHS Postsecondary Advisor, via hard copy or scanned/email (krijones@cjr1.org). All applicants must include completed recommendation form with application.

Amount: $500
Criteria: Applicant must be enrolled in/pursuing an earth, ecology, agricultural or horticulture-related field. A resume indicating your future plans should be submitted to Mrs. Kristy Jones, CJHS Postsecondary Advisor, via hard copy or email (krijones@cjr1.org).

Carl Junction Educational Foundation Scholarships
Amount: Several Scholarships available from one application. Values vary from $500 - $2,000.
Criteria: 1. Must be a CJ high school senior graduating between December 1, 2022 and June 30, 2023. Funds will be used for educational expenses to continue the applicant's education at an accredited post-secondary college, university, or vocational school. 3. Must maintain full-time student status in post-secondary education or training in the first academic year following your senior year of high school. 4. Must have maintained a minimum high school grade point average of 2.5. By applying for a Foundation Scholarship, you will be considered for several scholarships of varying amounts but may only receive one scholarship.

Criteria: Applicant must be a graduating senior who serves as a community leader and demonstrates financial need. Must prove full-time enrollment in an accredited college or vocational school. Carl Junction Teacher's Association Scholarship (MSTA)
Amount: $ 750--amount pending MSTA board vote
Criteria: Any Carl Junction High School Senior in the upper 34 percent in the scholastic rank of the current senior class. Applicants shall be attending a college the following fall and spring semester. Character, personality, and scholarship standing will be a prerequisite of all candidates for the scholarship. An interest in the teaching profession is considered, but not mandatory. Submit the following: (1) one-page typed essay explaining your college educational goals and how you plan to accomplish those goals financially. Include where you plan to attend school and your major area of study. (2) resume not to exceed 2 pages listing extracurricular activities, community involvement, and any honors you have received. (3) two one-page letters of recommendation (3) A seventh-semester transcript. Submit all application materials to Mr. Gary Biddlecome or Mrs. Kristy Jones, CJHS Postsecondary Advisor.

Amount: $1,000Criteria: Applicants must be a Carl Junction High school senior who has maintained a minimum high school grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale; has an ACT cumulative score of at least 18; will maintain full-time student status at an accredited college or university for the first academic year following graduation; planning to pursue a bachelors degree in Education. Applicants must complete the application and upload a letter of recommendation from a Carl Junction faculty member, and a letter of recommendation from a non-relative.

Cook Family Scholarship
Amount: $500
Criteria: Applicants must be a CJHS senior graduating between December 1, 2022 and June 30, 2023; must be planning to major in education at Pittsburg State, Missouri Southern State, or Crowder College; and must have maintained a minimum high-school grade-point average of 2.5.

Cowger Family Scholarship
Amount: $500
Criteria: Must be a CJHS senior graduating between December 1, 2022, and June 30, 2023. Funds will be used for educational expenses to continue the applicant's education at Missouri Southern State University. Preference will be given to education majors. Must have maintained a minimum high-school grade-point average of 2.5. The application must be filled out online and submitted.

Amount: $1000Criteria: Attended Carl Junction High School for four years AND have been a member of the C.J. FFA OR participated in the varsity basketball program at CJHS. The award will be based on student’s grades, attendance & cumulative GPA. Attach an unofficial transcript and a letter of recommendation by an FFA Advisor or basketball coach, letter from the applicant explaining their activities in school, post-graduation plans, as well as why they believe they should receive the scholarship. Dr. LaFerla - Dr. Wilson Orthodontic Team Scholarship
Amount: $1,000
Criteria: Senior must be a current or former patient of Dr. LaFerla, minimum 3.0 GPA, demonstrate community involvement, and demonstrate financial need. An essay is required Applications may be dropped off at Dr. LaFerla's office or submitted to Mrs. Kristy Jones, CJHS Postsecondary Advisor, via hard copy or email (krijones@cjr1.org).

Educational Community Credit Union CU Succeed Scholarship
Amount: $1,000 (two scholarships)

George Washington Carver Birthplace Memorial Scholarship
Amount: projected $1,000
Criteria: The applicant’s permanent residence must be within 200 miles of George Washington Carver National Monument, Diamond, MO. The applicant must be graduating from an accredited high school in the spring of 2023 and be eligible for enrollment in college by the fall of 2023, or be completing a high school equivalent home school program in the spring of 2023 and be eligible for enrollment in college by the fall of 2023. The applicant must be pursuing study in one of the following disciplines: Science, Art, Agriculture, Music, or Education. NOTE: If selected as a finalist, applicants may be asked to complete an interview.

Jeff Asbell Memorial Scholarship
Amount: $1,000
Criteria: Must be a senior and good standing member of the Carl Junction FFA. Must have achieved a high school GPA above 3.2. Must be accepted to or already attending a college, vocational school, or any other career-based earning program to seek further education in agriculture, mechanics, aviation, or construction management. Just Call Jo Team Scholarship
Amount: $100-$500
Criteria: Applicant must be a graduating high school senior enrolled in a post-secondary institution following graduation. This scholarship is not based on financial need. Applicants enrolled in a 4-year university will be eligible for a $500 scholarship. Applicants enrolled in any other type of post-secondary education will be eligible for a $250 scholarship. Write a 200-400-word essay on something you have accomplished during your high school career that you are really proud of and why. Attach an unofficial transcript to your essay. Kansas City Associated Equipment Distributors
Amount: $1000
Criteria: Must be enrolled as full-time student for the fall semester for the year in which the scholarship is awarded. Must be pursuing an associate of applied science degree or certificate in either diesel mechanics or heavy equipment repair. Must be in good academic standing with a minimum 2.0 GPA.

Missouri Blue Scholarship for Law Enforcement Training
Amount: up to $5,000
Criteria: The Missouri Blue Scholarship is a law enforcement basic training academy scholarship that makes $5,000 available for each selected non-sponsored* law enforcement academy recruit to help cover the cost of attending a Missouri basic training academy. The Missouri Blue Scholarship is a law enforcement basic training academy scholarship that makes $5,000 available for each selected non-sponsored* law enforcement academy recruit to help cover the cost of attending a Missouri basic training academy. To be eligible for the scholarship, the applicant must FIRST apply to a basic training academy (or if currently enrolled in an academy, the scholarship application must be received before graduation).
Deadline: Missouri Blue Scholarship recipients’ training academy class must begin by June 1, 2023.

Missouri Scholarship & Loan Foundation's Access Extra Scholarship
Amount: up to $2,000
Criteria: A private scholarship for students with an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of 12,000 or less and who have earned a cumulative 3.50 or higher on a 4.0 scale weighted or unweighted GPA through at least seven semesters at a Missouri high school. Must be enrolled full-time at an eligible Missouri public or private higher education institution in the fall of 2023.
Deadline: April 15, 2023 or until funding is depleted. Awards are prioritized, first-come, first-served.

Missouri Society of Professional Engineers- Southwest Chapter
Amount: $2000
Criteria: Be a high school senior for the 2022-2023 school year 2) Be a citizen of the United States at the time of application 3) Have at least a 3.0 grade point average (based on a 4.0 scale) for the 10th and 11th grades. 4) Have at least a minimum score on the American College Testing Program (ACT) test of 29 in Math and 25 in English. 5) Must enroll in an engineering program that has been accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET-EAC) or a PreEngineering Program at a College or University that has a working agreement to transfer credits with an ABET Accredited College or University.

Principal’s Leadership Scholarship
Amount: (2) $500
Criteria: This scholarship is open to any Carl Junction High School senior who will graduate in May. Applicants must submit a resume and letter of application either via email (krijones@cjr1.org) or hard copy to Mrs. Kristy Jones, CJHS postsecondary advisor. The letter should highlight the student’s academic achievement, leadership, and service activities in high school. Applicants should also include their future educational goals and how the scholarship will benefit them in achieving those goals.

Amount: up to $10,000
Criteria: Applicant must be a high school senior, childhood diagnosis of type 1 diabetes, successfully managing diabetes with proper medication, exercise and diet, commitment to education by maintaining above a 3.0 grade point average, commitment to participating in athletics by actively participating on an organized team, United States Citizen, completion of application with supporting documentation and endorsements.

Webb City Elks Scholarship
Amount: $1,000
Criteria: To be eligible for the Webb City Elks #861 Scholarship, a student must have completed their junior and senior years at Carl Junction High School; enrolled in an accredited post-secondary college, university, or vocational school; and maintained a minimum high-school grade-point average of 2.5. Preference will be given to students attending a technical school, a vocational program, or agricultural program, or family member of an Elks member in good standing. Work Ethics Scholarship Program

Criteria: Applicant must be a high school senior, high school graduate, or have GED equivalent, who plans to complete a trade-related program; be enrolled or plan to enroll in an approved trade program at an accredited two-year college, vocational, or technical school, or other approved technical institute in the United States. Four-year degree or bachelor programs are NOT eligible.
