• Varsity Tutors Essay Contest
    Amount: $200
    Criteria: This award is a monthly essay contest. The winner is chosen by which essay receives the most votes. Eligibility is limited to individuals who are at least 16 years of age in their state of legal residence on or before their entry into the Promotion. Such individuals must be a legal resident of one of the fifty United States or the District of Columbia as of September 01, 2020. Please see official rules for further details.     Criteria: This scholarship is open to high school seniors who are enrolling in college next fall. Students apply for the scholarship by (1) reading some information about automatic fire sprinkler systems and (2) registering and taking a 10-question quiz on that information.

    Criteria: Applicants must be incoming college freshmen or graduating high-school seniors who have enrolled full-time in college courses pursuing science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) with an interest in working in nuclear science and technology.

  • Bristol Myers Squibb Scholarship for Cancer Survivors
    Amount: $10,000
    Criteria: Be cancer survivors*, age 25 and under, who are high school seniors or graduates or current post-secondary undergraduates. Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year. Have a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent).  Employees and children of employees of Bristol Myers Squibb are ineligible to apply. Applicants will be asked to provide a personal impact statement describing the impact cancer has had on their life. Finalists will be asked to provide a Diagnosis Verification Form completed by a physician attesting to the applicant’s diagnosis.

    Criteria: The Bob Hackney Memorial Scholarship shall be awarded to a student who is a genuine person quietly impacting others by living life with kindness, humility, and strength of character.
    ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
    1. Must be a CJHS senior graduating between December 1, 2021 and June 30, 2022.
    2. Must show financial need by providing the Estimated Family Contribution from the FAFSA.
    3. Funds will be used for educational expenses to continue the applicant's education at an accredited post-secondary college, university, or vocational school.

  • Carl Junction Educational Foundation Scholarships LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP
    Amount: Several Scholarships available from one application. Values vary from $500 - $2,000.
    Criteria: 1. Must be a CJ high school senior graduating between December 1, 2021 and June 30, 2022. Funds will be used for educational expenses to continue applicant's education at an accredited post-secondary college, university, or vocational school. 3. Must maintain full-time student status in post-secondary education or training in the first academic year following your senior year of high school. 4. Must have maintained a minimum high school grade point average of 2.5. By applying for a Foundation Scholarship, you will be considered for several scholarships of various amounts but may only receive one scholarship.

    Criteria: Must have been enrolled in a CJHS band course, enroll in a performing instrumental music activity in the Fall 2019. Recipient is not required to be a music major.     Amount: $750
    Criteria: Each High School in the state of Missouri may submit only one application for this award. Applicant must be selected by the faculty of the High School he/she is attending based on the individuals financial need, participation in athletics, participation in school activities/clubs, volunteer work, exceptional leadership qualities, high moral standards, and extreme patriotism. 2. Recipient must be a full-time student in an accredited college or university in the state of Missouri. 3. Applicant must be a resident of the state of Missouri. 4.     Amount: $250-$500
    Criteria: Applicant must be a graduating high school senior enrolled in a post-secondary institution following graduation. This scholarship is not based on financial need. Applicants enrolled in a 4-year university will be eligible for a $500 scholarship. Applicants enrolled in any other type of post-secondary education will be eligible for a $250 scholarship. Write a 200-400-word essay on something you have accomplished during your high school career that you are really proud of and why. Attach an unofficial transcript to your essay and turn in to the CJHS Counseling Office by 3:00 pm.

    Criteria: Applicant must be a student planning on obtaining a degree in education, in honor of this Past National Executive Committeeman from Missouri.  To be eligible, individuals must:  (1) be a descendant* of a veteran who served 90 or more days of active duty in the armed forces and having an honorable discharge; (2) be a Missouri resident; (3) use the award as a full-time student at an accredited college or university; (4) provide a copy of the discharge certificate for the veteran on whose the application is made; and (6) submit an essay of 500 words or less on the subject found on the application .

    Criteria: This award is available to a Missouri boy or girl training to be a Registered Nurse and may be used in their freshman or subsequent college years.  The student must have graduated in the top forty percent of their high school class or have a "C" or equivalent standing from their last college or university semester.  Scholarships are awarded for one year, payable $375 per semester.

  • Principal’s Leadership Scholarship LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP
    Amount: (2) $500
    Criteria: This scholarship is open to any Carl Junction High School senior who will graduate in May.  Applicants must submit a resume and letter of application to Mrs. Wilson.  The letter should highlight the student’s academic achievement, leadership, and service activities in high school.  Applicants should also include their future educational goals and how the scholarship will benefit them in achieving those goals.

    Criteria: Must be thirteen (13) years of age or older at the time of application, currently enrolled (or enroll no later than the fall of 2024) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education. Submit an online written response to the question: "How will a $3,000 scholarship for education make a difference in your life?" (250 words or less)

    Criteria: Applicant must be between the ages of 16-20, create a photo inspired by any aspect of the automotive industry. Photos must be relevant to the automotive industry.

    Amount: $2,500
    Criteria: Any current college student or incoming freshman enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program. The student must be enrolled at an accredited college, university or trade school. No major or trade requirements. An essay is required on a specific topic found on their website.

  • Cornerstone Animal Hospital Essay Scholarship
    Amount: $1,000
    Criteria: Applicant must be a graduating senior with verification of enrollment in a degree seeking program and verification of outstanding school loan balances, must write an essay on a specific topic. The topic can be found on their website.

  • Elaine Chapin Fund
    Amount: $1000
    Criteria: Any high school senior who demonstrates a financial need, has good academic standing, and has been effected by sclerosis.

  • E-Waste Scholarship
    Amount: $1,000
    Criteria: Applicants must be a high school freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior. Complete the application form including a 140-character message about e-waste. The top 10 applications will be selected as finalists. The finalists will be asked to write a full length 500- to 1,000-word essay about e-waste.

  • The Andrew Flusche Scholarship Contest
    Amount: $500
    Criteria: Applicants must be high school seniors who have been accepted into a college, university, or trade school. The mission of this contest is to raise awareness about the dangers of texting and driving and create a public service advertisement video (PSA) which addresses the severity of the problem.
