Family & Consumer Sciences
My husband Doug, and I live in Carl Junction. Doug works for Bemis Flexible Packaging in Webb City.
This is my 18th year to teach at CJHS and my 32nd year as a Family & Consumer Sciences teacher.
I attended NEO in Miami, OK and PSU in Pittsburg to receive my teaching degrees in Child Development, Fashion Design, Nutrition and Wellness, Interior Design, and Family Relationships.
I was born in Joplin and attended high school in Riverton, KS. I love being an Aunt to my 16 neices and nephews. We spend a lot of time in Wichita where my sister and best friend live.
We belong to St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Joplin. I enjoy being an active member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
We have two puppies, Jasper and Sadie. My newest hobby is riding our Harley
with my husband. I also crochet, sew, and love to create costumes.
As an FCCLA adviser I am proud to have my Adviser Mentor and Master Adviser
certificates. I feel strongly that each student needs to be involved in some
school organization. I encourage all my students to join a group. We give
back to our community through service and donations.
I truly love being a teacher. I learn right along with my students everyday.
Every child has a special gift to give, we just have to nurture it.
