Jones named 2025 Missouri Advisor of the Year

Carl Junction High School’s own Kristy Jones has been named the 2025 rootEd Missouri Advisor of the Year! 🏆

At the rootEd Missouri Conference Awards in Columbia on August 5, Governor Mike Kehoe recognized Mrs. Jones for her extraordinary dedication to helping rural Missouri students prepare for life after graduation.

Through her creativity, technology-savvy tools, and personal connection with students and families, Mrs. Jones has helped CJ seniors achieve incredible outcomes, including:
✅ 99% creating a postsecondary and financial plan
✅ 95% participating in career exposure activities
✅ 98% of college-bound students committing to an institution
✅ 100% of military students completing enlistment requirements

From hosting Senior Parent Night with college & career resources, to ensuring all students — including those off campus — receive guidance, Mrs. Jones goes above and beyond every single day. One senior summed it up perfectly:

“I am confident in saying I would be lost without Ms. Jones.”

We are so proud of you, Mrs. Jones! Thank you for believing in our students and helping them see what’s possible. ❤️
