Dr. Theresa Wilson has been a part of the administrative team at Carl Junction Schools since 2011. Now, she will take on the role of assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction. She replaces Dr. Kathy Tackett, who retired in June following 25 years of service to CJ students.
Dr. Wilson began her career at Carl Junction as a science teacher at the high school in 2004. In 2011, the board of education named Wilson as an assistant principal at the high school, and at the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year, she was promoted to principal.
Originally from New York, Wilson has education degrees from Fairfield University – Bachelor of Science, Pittsburg State University - Masters & Specialist, and William Woods University – EdD.
In her new role, Dr. Wilson will oversee all teaching and learning at Carl Junction Schools. “Carl Junction has a tradition of academic excellence. Our teachers are strong, and we have great building principals and instructional coaches,” said Wilson. “I’m ready to jump in and keep the momentum moving forward.”
Wilson and her husband, Darwin, have one son, Conner (2019 CJHS Graduate), a screenwriting major at Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles.
