Weston earns state track honor

Carl Junction High School Junior Weston Wendt has been named the Aldo Sebben Award winner in the State of Missouri for Class 4 schools. The Aldo Sebben Award is given annually to the most outstanding track and field athlete in each class. The award is presented by the Southwest Missouri Cross Country and Track Coaches.

As a member of the Carl Junction Track team, Wendt has achieved the following over the past two years at the State Track Meet:

  • 2016 State Champion as part of the 4X100 meter relay team
  • 2nd Place in the 200 meter dash
  • 4th Place in the 100 meter dash, and
  • 2nd and 4th Place as a member of the 4X200 meter relay team

Wendt also qualified for the State Track Meet as a freshman in the long and triple jump.

He holds the school records in the following events:

  • Long Jump
  • 200 Meter Dash
  • The relay team of Wendt, Lucas Berliew, Aaron Ludders and Zach Taylor hold school records in the 4X100 and 4X200 meter relays

Weston is currently ranked in the top 30 in the country in the 60 meter and 200 meter dash and he has qualified to compete in the New Balance Nationals which will be held in New York City this coming March.
