My name is Commander Dove E. Hayes. Welcome to Starfleet Science Academy. I teach 7th and 8th grade science along with an RTI (reading intervention) class. Here is a little background information about myself.

      I am a parent of two wonderful children. My son, Drake, is 20 years old and attends college at MSSU. My daughter, Raven, graduated from Missouri State University and graduated with her Master's at the University of Wisconsin. She is currently living in Philadelphia working as a paralegal. We have several pets including a parrot named Emmie and a dog named Hewey. I enjoy sewing and reading in my free time. 

      I did my undergraduate work at Missouri Southern and earned my Master's in Science Education from Northwest Missouri State University. I have worked with DESE as a Key leader for Building a Presence in Science, wrote and edited the new MAP science questions. I was nominated for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) in 2016.
