Ask Mrs. Moore

  • When is the library open?

The Intermediate Library is open Monday through Friday from 8:05
    a.m. to 3:20 p.m.

When can I come to the library to check out books?

You may come to the library at anytime you have permission from
your teacher or other adult at school. You may stop by in the
morning after you have checked in with your homeroom teacher,
during the school day, or you may come in right after school.
You will also have an assigned class time during the week that
you will come to the library for a lesson and check out.

How long can I keep a book from the library?

You can keep books for one week. If you would like to keep the
book longer, you will need to bring it back to the library so
that we can renew it for you. Or, you can put a renew slip into
the book and put it in your book cart on the morning of your
library day and we will have it renewed for you when you come to
library for class. You can keep the renewed book for an
    additional week.

How many books can I check out each week?

Students in Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth grade may check out two
    books each week.

What if I finish my book early and need a new one?

You may bring in your book anytime, with permission from your
teacher, and trade it for a new one.

Is there a fine for overdue books?

There is not a fine for overdue books. If you do not return all
of your books each week, you will not be allowed to check out
until all books have been returned. Overdue notes will be sent
to your classroom each week to remind you to bring in your
    missing books.

How many times can I renew a book?

You may renew a book as many times as you need to complete your
reading. If there is a waiting list for the book, or another
person is needing the book, then you will only be allowed to
    renew the book once.

What if I lose or damage a book?

If you can not find your library book, you will have to pay to
replace it. If you find the book at a later date and it is
returned in good condition, your payment will be refunded.

If your book is returned with damage, you will have to pay to
have the book replaced. For example: water damage (or any
liquid), food on the pages, damage from pets, mud or dirt on the
pages, page, spine, or cover damage from roughness, etc.

Can I look for books that are in our library at home?

Yes! There will be a link to the Intermediate Library Online
Catalog on the library webpage soon.
