The safety of our students, staff, and community is a priority for Carl Junction Schools. Our Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan is based on the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Jasper County Health Department to keep students learning with us in the safest environment that we can provide. All guidance will evolve as information and recommendations become available.
What can you do at home?
Your household plays a critical role in reducing the spread of COVID-19 in our schools and community. If your student has possible symptoms of COVID-19, please keep them at home until COVID-19 has been ruled out. People with COVID-19 have reported a wide range of symptoms - from mild to severe illness. Children have similar symptoms to adults and generally have mild illness. Symptoms may include fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle aches, headache, the new loss of taste/smell, sore throat, congestion, runny nose, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Please keep your student home if you suspect that they might be sick or if your student is awaiting COVID-19 test results. Consider contacting your health care provider if your child is sick.
Additionally, your family can help by keeping any unvaccinated students home if someone in your household is ill with possible symptoms of COVID-19.
