To promote a safe learning environment for all students, the Carl Junction R-I School District prohibits all forms of bullying. The district also prohibits reprisal or retaliation against any person who reports an act of bullying among or against students. By state law, bullying is defined as intimidation, unwanted aggressive behavior, or harassment that is repetitive or is substantially likely to be repeated and causes a reasonable student to fear for their physical safety or property; that substantially interferes with the educational performance, opportunities or benefits of any student without exception; or that substantially disrupts the orderly operation of the school.
The Carl Junction School District is committed to maintaining a workplace and educational environment free from discrimination and harassment in admission or access to, or treatment or employment in, its programs, services, activities, and facilities. By the law, the district strictly prohibits discrimination and harassment against employees, students, or others based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, disability, age, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by law. The Carl Junction R-I School District is an equal-opportunity employer. All forms of sex-based discrimination are prohibited in the District. This includes sexual harassment as defined in Title IX, which occurs within the education programs and activities of the District.
