• STEM ENRICHMENT

    This program is offered under the state department guidelines for gifted and alternative programs. Students must meet the eligibility requirements by scoring at the 96th percentile on the achievement test and by scoring at the 95th percentile on the WISC-IV individual intelligence test. This program is designed to provide a new and challenging learning experience that is not ordinarily included in the regular classroom. It provides the format for gifted students to come together to challenge each other and to encounter other students with similar skills and talents. Emphasis in this program is to prepare students for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century, equipping them with the skills and knowledge required to excel in STEAM fields and beyond. The goal is to challenge and inspire talented students who exhibit a strong interest and aptitude for various aspects of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics in order to foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity in a collaborative environment. (One credit, year long elective for grades 9-12 who qualify for the gifted program.)
