LAUNCH ONLINE PROGRAM: HIGH SCHOOL COURSES
Traditional virtual courses, credit recovery courses, and credit acquisition courses are available to students upon approval. Students should see counselors for more information.
Students must meet the following requirements to enroll in online distance learning courses:
- 11th and 12th grade students must have an overall GPA of 3.0, or
- 11th and 12th grade students with overall GPA of 2.5-2.99 must have permission from principal OR school counselor AND parent or legal guardian.
- Students in 10th grade must have an overall GPA of 3.0 AND permission from their principal OR school counselor AND parent or legal guardian.
- Students in the 9th grade must have an overall GPA of 3.5 from 8th grade and parent permission.
To take MOCAP blended courses, students must apply each semester and receive administration approval. Applications will be posted each semester at the high school website. Administration reserves the right to have a student return to campus to take their online course if a student is not making sufficient educational progress.
In determining if a student is making sufficient educational progress in their course, the following action will be taken:
- If a student is failing at first grade check, the student will be placed on probationary status.
- If a student continues to fail, at second grade check, the student will be required to return to campus to complete their course for the remainder of the semester.
If a student fails a virtual class one semester, they will not be approved to take a course off campus the following semester.
*It is recommended that courses required for graduation be taken on campus as a traditional seated course.
