• OUTDOOR PURSUITS ASSISTANT

    This course is for students who have an interest in pursuing an outdoor-related career.  Students will study career skills, prep outdoor cooking labs, make atlatl equipment, set up and maintain lab/range equipment, and design new learning experiences.  The major emphasis, however, will be the semester and/or year conservation project: students will identify an issue in the outdoor classroom, develop a project to address it, secure funding, and complete it within the school year. This course builds practical outdoor skills and fosters leadership and problem-solving abilities (One-half-credit, one-semester, or one-credit, one -year practical art for grades 11-12.) Prerequisite: Teacher approval is required for enrollment.  Students must complete an application obtained from instructor/current course participant and be approved for this class. Contact course instructor for application deadline information.
