• OUTDOOR PURSUITS ASSISTANT

    This course is for students who have an interest in pursuing an outdoor related career.  Students will study career skills, prep outdoor cooking labs, make atlatl equipment, set up and maintain lab/range equipment, and design new learning experiences.  The major emphasis, however, will be the semester and/or year conservation project: students will identify an issue in the outdoor classroom, develop a project to address it, secure funding, and complete it within the school year. This course builds practical outdoor skills and fosters leadership and problem-solving abilities (One-half-credit, one-semester, or one-credit, one -year practical art for grades 11-12.) Prerequisite: Teacher approval is required for enrollment.  Students must complete an application obtained from instructor/current course participant and be approved for this class. Contact course instructor for application deadline information.   This course may be repeated once for credit.
