• PERSONAL FINANCE

    This course is based on the Missouri Personal Finance Competencies and presents essential knowledge and skills to make informed decisions about real world financial issues. Students will understand the impact of individual choices related to the following topics: Goal setting, banking services, maintaining a bank account and reconciliation, savings and investment options. We will assess credit and spending and how it affects our personal budgets. Students will evaluate and apply insurance as it relates to their personal life. Students will practice calculating wages, and understanding the features on a paystub. We will also explore the Federal Reserve and the impacts it has on our personal finances.  (One-half credit, one-semester practical art floating requirement for grades 10-12.)
