• DUAL CREDIT UNITED STATES HISTORY I—U.S. History 106 (Crowder HIST 106)

    US History I surveys the development of American culture and the United States from pre-colonial times through the Civil War and Reconstruction. The growth of political, economic, and social institutions is emphasized. Students who pass this class will meet requirements to earn one-half credit for the first semester of Modern American History at CJHS. (One-half credit, one semester elective for grades 11-12) Prerequisite: Students who wish to take this course for college credit must meet all requirements of Crowder College plus the following: (1) ACT Reading subtest score of 18 OR Accuplacer Next Generation Reading score of 245, (2) Payment of Crowder College tuition for fees/book, (3) Students in 11th and 12th grade must have an overall GPA of 3.0, or 11th and 12th grade students with overall GPA of 2.5-2.99 must provide signed letter of recommendation from principal OR school counselor AND parent or legal guardian. 

    DUAL CREDIT UNITED STATES HISTORY II—U.S. History 107 (Crowder HIST 107)

    US History II surveys the United States economic, political, social, and diplomatic history from Reconstruction to the present. The growth of political, economic, and social institutions is emphasized. Students who pass this class will meet requirements to earn one-half credit for the second semester of Modern American History at CJHS. (One-half credit, one semester elective for grades 11-12) Prerequisite: Students who wish to take this course for college credit must meet all requirements of Crowder College plus the following: (1) ACT Reading subtest score of 18 OR Accuplacer Next Generation Reading score of 245, (2) Payment of Crowder College tuition for fees/book, (3) Students in 11th and 12th grade must have an overall GPA of 3.0, or 11th and 12th grade students with overall GPA of 2.5-2.99 must provide signed letter of recommendation from principal OR school counselor AND parent or legal guardian.

    *Dual credit course requirements may be changing for the 2025-2026 school year.  Your counselor will notify you of the changes if you enroll in either of these courses.   

    Students taking dual credit classes are encouraged to contact the college they plan to attend to check for credit transferability.  Some credits will be transcribed as elective credit if it is not required for a particular major or general studies requirement.  Contact the college/university website to locate a transfer equivalency chart.
