AGRICULTURE WORK EXPERIENCE (AWE)
Agriculture Work Experience provides students with the opportunity to complete an agricultural occupational experience in an approved training station in agriculture, and enrolled students are given “release time” from the regular school day to do so. The student must work a minimum of 10 hours per week for each block they are enrolled in AWE. A signed training agreement and training plan must be completed by the student, and signed by the instructor. Students must obtain an approved job before school begins in August and must maintain the job for the duration of the school year. Students who become unemployed in excess of two (2) weeks will be removed from the programs and placed in alternate classes or ISS. (One or two credits, one-year practical art for grades 11-12) Prerequisite: Students must be concurrently enrolled in 3rd or 4th year of Agricultural Instruction. This class can be repeated for credit. Permission only; application required.
