• LANGUAGE ARTS II ADVANCED

    This tenth-grade language arts curriculum focuses on student writing for a variety of topics using diverse sources. Writing instruction emphasizes vocabulary, accepted patterns of organization, development and support of ideas, and acceptable usage and mechanics, which prepares students for future studies and for the workplace. Students will analyze and evaluate major writings in world literature and read and respond to literature. This is a reading and writing-intensive course emphasizing preparation for LA III Advanced. (One-credit, one-year for grade 10, meets Language Arts II requirement). Candidates requesting this accelerated course will be admitted based on a consideration of their successful completion of LAI or LAI Enrichment, IXL scores, and teacher advisement.
