• DC ALGEBRA FOR CALCULUS-YEARLONG (Dual Credit Crowder MATH 135)

    This course studies the foundations of functions, analysis of functions, algebraic reasoning, and conic sections.  This course is designed for students who intend to pursue a degree in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics as well as other fields that require a high level of algebraic reasoning.  This course is intended to prepare students for higher level mathematics courses, but will satisfy most degree requirements in Mathematics and should transfer to any four-year institution. This class may be taken for high school credit only, or students who meet the course prerequisites for college credit may receive high school and college credit. (One-credit, one-year elective for grades 11-12) 

    Prerequisites for high school credit: Algebra II Honors.

    Prerequisites for college credit are as follows:

    • Must meet high school prerequisites above
    • Students in 11th and 12th grade must have an overall GPA of 3.0, or 11th and 12th grade students with overall GPA of 2.5-2.99 must provide signed letter of recommendation from principal OR school counselor AND parent or legal guardian
    • The following academic requirements must be met:
      • Math/ACT Score of 22 OR
      • Math/ACT Score 21 with 3.0 GPA AND grade of B or high in both semesters of Algebra II OR
      • Accuplacer Next Generation Advanced Algebra & Functions test score of 235 
    • Payment of Crowder College tuition and fees for a 3-credit course,
    • Purchase of recommended textbook. Students, whether or not taking this course for dual credit, may be responsible for the purchase of a textbook.

    *Dual credit course requirements may be changing for the 2025-2026 school year.  Your counselor will notify you of the changes if you enroll in this course.   

    Students taking dual credit classes are encouraged to contact the college they plan to attend to check for credit transferability.  Some credits will be transcribed as elective credit if it is not required for a particular major or general studies requirement.  Contact the college/university website to locate a transfer equivalency chart.
