• Advanced Placement Economics

This yearlong course introduces students to the principles of economics, divided into two parts: AP Microeconomics in the fall and AP Macroeconomics in the spring. In Microeconomics, students examine how individuals, households, and businesses make decisions about resource allocation, production, and consumption, with emphasis on supply and demand, market structures, and the role of government in promoting efficiency and equity. In Macroeconomics, students explore the economy as a whole, studying national income, economic growth, unemployment, inflation, fiscal and monetary policy, and international trade. Throughout the year, students apply economic reasoning to real-world issues and prepare for both AP exams. (One credit, one-year elective for grades 11-12) Students enrolling in this course are required to have a Math IXL score of 950 or higher.
