• History of American Sports

    Students will examine significant sports, athletes, coaches, and major sporting events that have shaped athletics in the United States and around the world. Through readings, lectures, research, and collaborative projects, students will analyze how these individuals and moments have influenced culture, society, and the development of modern sports. Students will also study the challenges, controversies, and historical contexts that have impacted athletic competition over time. This is not an NCAA approved course.  (One-half credit, one-semester elective for grades 9-12.)
